When I met my husband I had a Himalayan cat named Tippu. Sridhar had never been around cats before but he totally fell in love with Tippu, or Tippy, or Hosteen Tippy—he was a wise shaman of a cat. After we got married, if we ever argued, Tippu would get deeply upset. He inherited a Siamese meow, so it was very clear when he was trying to communicate. It’s been 25 years since he died, and we miss him so very much.
What a remarkable cat -- I had one of those too. He was an Abyssinian named Ivan and he kept me in check. I hope that Gideon and his sister take up the mantel.
“A sense of grief”. Yes. How we notice subtle changes lingering around the edges just touching in. The first birch leaf to fall on my driveway one week after the summer solstice. The first little crease at the corner of our mouth…, everything changes. Everything changes…..
Did you already know that the ancestral Celtic Agricutural Calendar marks August 1 (Lughnasa) as the beginning of Autumn?...the First Harvest: the Harvest of the Grains. Other things have been harvested and they are mainly perishable foods to be eaten soon. But grains can be ground and saved, oats can be saved as is or made into flour, and there was a reason bread was the 'staff of life' since this abiity to preserved the grains meant food would be available during the winter. (Hopefully joined by by preserved dried apples and cider, nuts and honey, and the gift from a hunt). Yes...the light always looks different to me, too. Temperature is not the demarcation line. I never knew this until I started writing Anwen's life and moved up from Florida to enjoy the glorious change of seasons again. ✨🍂 ✨I can't wait to see how Indigo gets along with Gideon and claims her place in the family.
My body feels what the calendar already knows. I remember reading this from you last year and it has stayed with my deeper memory. This makes so much sense. And how much are we divorced from the natural cycles.
I enjoyed your voice feature. Listening to you read this felt very soothing.
Thank you so much! It was hard leaning into the habit of doing voiceovers but now I enjoy it so much, and I'm so glad that my voice could reach you.
Wow...you really brought Indigo to you!
Indigo!!!!!! ❤️

This is just beautiful.
I thank you!

I can see that little leaf in my mind as I read this.
